Level of Difficulty – Beginner

Yarn – Premier Yarns, Sweet Roll, Caramel Swirl; 100% Acrylic, 245 yards

Hook and Notions – Hook: I/9 (5.5 mm), scissors, and yarn needle

Measurement – 12-inches wide and 15-inches long (before sewing together)

Gauge – 3 pattern repeats = 5-inches

Abbreviations

Ch = chain
Dc = double crochet

Special Stitches

Shell – in indicated stitch work (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc)

Notes
chain 3 counts as first dc unless otherwise stated

INSTRUCTIONS

Chain 45

Row 1 (right side): Shell in the 6th
chain from the hook, skip the next 2 chains, dc in next chain,
* skip the next 2 chains, shell in next chain,
skip the next 2 chains, dc in the next chain;
repeat from * across. Turn.

Row 2: Chain 3 (see notes),
* shell in ch-2 space of the next shell, dc in the next dc,
repeat from * across, ending last repeat with a dc
in top of the turning chain. Turn.

Row 3: Chain 3, * shell in ch-2 space of next shell,
work (dc in next dc, ch 2, dc in ch-2 space of next shell, ch 2) twice,
dc in the next dc, repeat from * across
to last shell, shell in ch-2 space of
last shell, dc in 3rd chain of turning chain. Turn.

Rows 4 through 6: Repeat Row 3.

Row 7: Chain 3, shell in ch-2 space of next shell,
*dc in the next dc, work (shell in next dc, dc in next dc) twice,
shell in ch-2 space of next shell,
repeat from * across,
ending with dc in 3rd ch of turning ch. Turn

Repeat Rows 2 through 7 until desired length.

Fasten off, leaving long enough tail for sewing together.

Once you have reached the desired length match both ends together, using the mattress stitch sew ends together. You now have your cowl!
