The Royal Crown Wrap is made using Caron Simply Soft, Brittany J Hook, and basic crochet stitches. The design of this pattern reminds me of Royal Crowns sitting in a row waiting to be picked up and worn. Make one for yourself, as a gift this holiday season, or to give to your favorite charity.
Level of Difficulty – Beginner/Intermediate
Yarn – Caron Simply Soft, Medium #4, 6 oz/170 g/315 yds/288 m, 3 skeins Watermelon
Hook and Notions – Size Hook: J (6.0mm)
Measurement – 19 Inches wide x 64 Inches long
Gauge – Not important
Ch/chs = chain/chains
Sc = single crochet
Hdc = half double crochet
Dc = double crochet
Sp = space
Trc = treble crochet
2 Treble Cluster Stitch (2 trcl st) ~ yarn over two times, insert hook in indicated stitch, yarn over, pull through, (yarn over, pull through 2 loops on hook) 2 times, * yarn over 2 times, insert hook in same stitch, yarn over, pull through, (yarn over, pull through 2 loops on hook) 2 times *; yarn over, pull through all 3 loops, on hook, ch 1 (2 trcl st made)
2 Treble Cluster Shell ~ repeat 2 Treble Cluster Stitch 3 times in same stitch
Row 1: Hdc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across. Turn (200 hdc)
Row 2: CH 1, sc in same stitch, *ch 3, sk 3 stitches, Shell in next stitch, ch 3, sk 3 stitches, sc next stitch, repeat across. Turn (25 shells, 50 ch 3 sps, 26 sc)
Row 3: CH 3, trc in same stitch, ch 3 sc in top of center tr of shell, *ch 9, sc in top of center tr of shell, repeat across ending with ch 3, 2 tr in last st,. Turn (2 ch 3 spps, 24 ch 9 sps, 45 trc, 25 sc)
Row 4: CH 1, sc in same stitch, sc in remaining stitches and chains across. Turn (200 sc)
Row 5: CH 3, trc same stitch, 2 (2 trcl st) in next stitch, ch 3, sk 3 stitches, sc in next stitch, * Ch 3, sk 3 stitches, shell in next stitch, ch 3, sk 3 stitches, sc in next st, repeat across. Turn
Row 6: Repeat Row 3
Row 7: Repeat Row 4
Rows 8 – 30: Repeat Rows 2 through 7 for pattern
Fasten off and weave in ends.
