After each section is published online the link will be added to the Introduction Post, on a post by post basis.
We are excited to be making this blanket with you!
This blanket is great for yourself or as a gift. Let’s Crochet!
I used Red Heart With Love #4 worsted weight yarn, and a J (6.0mm) hook was used to make join the squares.
Joining the squares is easy using simple double crochet. I have chosen to join my squares using Color A ~ Tan and Color B ~ Evergreen into strips of 4 squares. The strips will then be joined with Color C ~ Chocolate.
Ch 2 at beginning of rows counts as 1st dc
Be sure when joining squares that they are facing the correct way
I laid my squares in alternating sequences of 4 squares
Strips 1 & 3: Square 1, square 2, square 1, square 2
Strips 2 & 4: Square 2, square 1, square 2, square 1
Taking the Cluster Petal Square (Square 1) with right side facing and Color A ~ Tan, join in ch 2 corner space,
Row 1: ch 2, dc in same sp, dc in next st and each st across to corner ch 2 sp, 2 dc in ch 2 sp, ch 2 turn, (57 dc)
Row 2: dc in each st across, ch 2 turn (57 dc)
Row 3: repeat row 2
Change to Color B or your color of choice
Rows 4 – 6: Repeat row 2 (57 sts)
Use your favorite joining method to join square 2. I used the mattress stitch to join the Flower H-Bone Square (Square 2). Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing square 2 to join. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Repeat rows 1 through 6 and attach the 3rd square
Repeat rows 1 through 6 and attach the 4th square
One strip completed lay to side and complete the other 3 strips
Once you have the 4 strips completed you are ready to join the strips together. I used Color 3 ` Chocolate to join the strips together.
With right side of strip 1 facing attach yarn in corner ch 2 sp,
Row 1: ch 2, dc in same ch 2 sp, dc in each st across the 4 squares and 2 dc in ends of rows of joining to end, ch 2 turn
Row 2: dc in each st across, ch 2 turn
Rows 3 – 6: Repeat row 2
Attach 2nd strip to row 6
Repeat rows 1 – 6 on strip 2 attach strip 3
Repeat rows 1 – 6 on strip 3 attach strip 4
