Girlie Patriotic Wine Glass Charms
By Mistie Bush
Quick and easy to make these, wine glass charms, can be used to identify glasses for the upcoming July 4th celebration or any occasion. Fall colors for Thanksgiving; red, white, and green for Christmas, or pastels for Spring. I used a small amount of each color of Aunt Lydia’s Crochet Thread Fashion 3 and a D/3 (3.25 mm) hook
Yarn: Aunt Lydia’s Crochet Thread Fashion 3 100% Mercerized Cotton (#1 Super Fine) 150 yds, 137 m, Blue Hawaii, Scarlett, and White (small amount each color)
Hook: D/3 (3.25 mm)
For each glass you will need:
Endless Hoop Earring – Silver 36 mm
1 Jewelry Charm of choice
Ch/chs = chain/chains
Hdc = half double crochet
Sc = single crochet
Sl st = slip stitch
Sp/sps = space/spaces
St/sts = stitch/stitches
If opening on charm is too small to get hook through thread it on the thread before you attach it to earring. (I could get hook in the circle to attach my charms.)
With opening for earring at top attach thread. Holding opening of earring so you do not crochet over it and pull up a loop,
Row 1: 17 sc around the earring, ch 1 turn (17 sc)
Row 2: hdc in same st as ch, hdc in next 7 sc, pull thread through charm and sc, sk st, hdc in next 7 sc, 2 hdc in last sc. (19 sts)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Happy Hooking and Enjoy!
