Ombre Cluster Gift Bag

With Mother’s Day and Graduation just around the corner add a special touch by making this little gift bag for your gift. It works up quick and uses very little yarn. Make several in different yarns and colors.
Yarn: Lily Sugar and Cream #4 100% Cotton (This one was made using White and Damask Ombre)
Hook: Brittany H
Lying flat Width 4” x Height 7 (bottom to peak of fan)
Ch/chs = chain/chains
Dc = double crochet
Dc cl = double crochet cluster
Hdc = half double crochet
Sc = single crochet
Sl st = slip stitch
Sp/sps = space/spaces
St/sts = stitch/stitches
Tr = triple or treble crochet
Double Crochet Cluster Stitch (DC CL) also Double Crochet 3 Together Stitch (DC3Tog)
YO hook insert hook into the indicated stitch. YO and draw up a loop, YO and draw through the first 2 loops on the hook. YO insert our hook in same st and draw through a loop; you should have 4 loops on your hook. YO draw through the first 2 loops only and you should have 3 loops on your hook. YO and insert hook same stitch and draw through that will give you 5 loops on your hook. YO and draw through the first 2 loops. That will leave you with 4 loops on your hook. YO and draw through all 4 loops on the hook. Secure the cluster with a chain stitch.
Fan – In indicated stitch work hdc, dc, tr, dc,hdc
Ch 1 on rnds do not count as stitch.
Ch 10, turn sc in 2nd from hook and next 7 chs, 3 sc in next st, working on opposite side of starting chain sc in next 7 sts, 2 sc in same st as first sc; join with sl st in first sc. (20 sts)
Rnd 1: ch 1, sc in same st as join, sc in next 9 sts, 4 sc in next st (center sc of previous rnd), sc in next 9 sts, 3 sc in beginning st; join with sl st in first sc. (26 sc)
Rnd 2: Ch 1 sc in same st as join and each st around; join with sl st in first sc (26 sc)
Rnd 3: Ch 2, sk next st, sc in next st, * ch 1, sk next st, sc in next st * Repeat from * to * around; join with sl st in ch 2 sp. (13 sc and 13 ch 1 sps)
Rnd 4: ch 1, * dc cl in same ch 1 sp, sk next sc * Repeat from * to * around; join with sl st in top of first dc cl. (13 clusters)
Rnds 5 – 12: Repeat Rnd 3 and 4
Rnd 13: Sc in the top of each cl and ch 1 sp; join with sl st in top of first sc. (26 sc)
Rnd 14: Ch 3, sk next sc, * hdc in next sc, ch 1, sk next sc * Repeat from * to *; join in ch sp.
Rnd 15: Sc in same sp as join, sk next hdc, * fan in next ch 1 sp, sk hdc, sc in next ch 1 sp * Repeat from * to *; joining with sl st in first sc. (6 fans and 6 sc)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
