Shaded Heart Coaster ~ Re-stitched
By Mistie Bush
When my Aunt came to visit she wanted some coasters to sit under safari animals in her bedroom. I took my Shaded Hearts Coaster pattern and made her 2 coasters in the heart shape using Bernat Handicrafter Cotton #4 Yarn, a Boye H hook, and basic crochet stitches. I using the #4 cotton yarn and H hook instead of the Sinfonia Mercerized Cotton light, the size of the coasters was larger as she needed them.
Yarn: Bernat Handicrafter Cotton 4 ply, 12 oz,/340 g/608 yds/556 m, Chocolate Ombre and White
Hook: Boye H
Laying flat width 8 ½ inches, height (dip to point) 9 ½ inches
Not important for this project

Reverse Single Crochet aka Crab Stitch
This stitch is pretty distinctive; it looks ridged and makes a nice finishing option for crochet items. It looks great when worked as an edging using a contrasting or coordinating color.
This is worked from left to right (or opposite direction)
With right side of project facing you Chain 1, * insert hook into next stitch to right, yarn over and pull through, (2 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through both loops. * Continue working * to * until you have reached the end of project. Slip stitch into first chain 1 and fasten off, weave in ends.

Shaded Heart Coaster pattern can be located **HERE **. The new re-stitched shaded heart coasters were worked exactly by this pattern. One was worked completely in Chocolate Ombre. The other was worked in Chocolate Ombre except Rnd 7 (crab stitch) was worked with white.
Happy Hooking and Enjoy!
