Shaded Heart Coaster

Valentine’s Day is just a few days away here is a Heart Coaster that can be used to dress up your dining table, desk, or as a decoration on a package. It is easy to make using basic crochet stitches, Sinfonia 100% Mercerized Cotton and a Coats, Milward Bamboo E/4 (3mm) hook.
Yarn: Sinfonia 100% Mercerized Cotton (Hobby Lobby) 3.52 oz/218 yds/100 g/210 m (used approximately 50 yds)
Hook: Coats, Milward Bamboo E/4 (3mm) hook.
Laying flat width 5 ½ inches, height (dip to point) 6 ½ inches
BLO = back loops only
Ch/chs = chain/chains
Dc = double crochet
Hdc = half double crochet
Rnd/rnds = round/roounds
Sc = single crochet
Sl st = slip stitch
Sp/sps = space/spaces
St/sts = stitch/stitches
Tr = treble (triple) crochet
Reverse Single Crochet aka Crab Stitch
This stitch is pretty distinctive; it looks ridged and makes a nice finishing option for crochet items. It looks great when worked as an edging using a contrasting or coordinating color.
This is worked from left to right (or opposite direction)
With right side of project facing you Chain 1, * insert hook into next stitch to right, yarn over and pull through, (2 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through both loops. * Continue working * to * until you have reached the end of project. Slip stitch into first chain 1 and fasten off, weave in ends.
Ch 1 at beginning of rnds do not count as a st
Magic ring (ch 4, join with a sl st)
Rnd 1: Ch 1 (does not counts as st), 12 dc into ring, join with sl st top of 1st dc (12 dc)
Rnd 2: Working in BLO ch 1, 2 dc in same st as join, and each st around; join with sl st in top of 1st dc (24 dc)
Rnd 3: Ch 1, 2 tr in same st as join, and each st around; join with sl st in top of 1st dc (48 tr)
Rnd 4: Ch 1, 2 tr in same st, * tr next 2 sts, 2 tr next st, * repeat from * to * around; join with sl st top of 1st tr (64 tr)
Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc same st, hdc next st, dc next st, tr next 5 sts, dc next 8 sts, hdc next 8 sts, sc next 4 sts, (hdc, dc, tr, dc, hdc) in next st to form point, sc next 4 sts, hdc next 8 sts, dc next 8 sts, tr next 5 sts, dc next st, hdc next st, sc next st; join with sl st in 1st sc (61 sts)
Rnd 6: Ch 1, hdc same st, dc next st, 2 tr next 5 sts, dc next 10 sts, hdc next 14 sts, (dc, 2 tr, dc) worked in tr for point, hdc next 14 sts, dc next 10 sts, 2 tr next 5 sts, hdc in last st; join with sl st to beginning hdc
Rnd 7: Ch 1, work crab st around, join in 1st st
Fasten off and weave in ends.
