Storm at Sea Lapghan

This lapghan is made with a soft textured yarn in Royal Blue and Black and a Brittany K hook. The blue shells give the appearance of waves rolling across the dark sea.
Yarn: Big Twist Yarns, Rainbow Classic, (JoAnn’s) 100% Acrylic, 11 ozs/312 gms/615 yds/562 m, Royal Blue and Black (2 skeins each color)
Hook: Brittany K/10.5 (6.5 mm)
Laying flat 60 inches X 38 inches
Not important for this project
Ch/chs = chain/chains
Dc = double crochet
Sc = single crochet
Sl st = slip stitch
Sp/sps = space/spaces
St/sts = stitch/stitches
Tr = triple/treble
Shell ~ in indicated st work (2 dc, 3 tr, 2 dc): shell made.
Leave yarn about 3 to 4 inches on each end for the fringe, tie ends of rows together
(Stitch Multiple: chain a multiple of 6 + 4 sts for the starting chain)
Row 1: hdc in 2nd ch from hook and across (165 hdc)
Row 2: (I used Royal Blue) ch 1, sc in first st * sc in the next st, sk next 2 sts, shell in next st; sk next 2 sts ** rep across to last 2 sts, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts; rep from * across; turn [27 shells, 30 sc]
Row 3: (I used Black) ch 3 (counts as first dc), 3 dc in first sc; * sk next 2 dc and next tr, sc in next tr ; 5 dc in next sc ** ; repeat from * across, ending last rep with 3 dc in the sc. 1 dc in the last sc. turn [26 shells, 8dc, 27 sc]
Repeat Rows 2 and 3 for pattern for 38 inches or until desired length
