This coaster can be made in one color or several depending on the occasion. It can be made up to sit out for parties or just everyday use. The design helps to protect your furniture and looks great. It is made using Lily Sugar ’n Cream scraps and a I hook.
Yarn: Lily Sugar ‘n Cream small amount of Red and White
Hook: Brittany I
Lying flat 4 inches across
Ch/chs = chain/chains
Dc = double crochet
FPTrC = front post triple/treble crochet
Hdc = half double crochet
Sl st = slip stitch
Sp/sps = space/spaces
St/sts = stitch/stitches
YO = yarn over
Front post triple/treble crochet (FPTr) – YO twice, insert hook from front to back around post of indicated stitch. Yo and pull through a loop (4 loops on hook), * yo draw through 2 loops on hook * 3 times (fptr made). Skip stitch behind the fptr.
Ch 4 join to form circle
Rnd 1: ch 1, 7 hdc in circle, join in first hdc (7 hdc)
Rnd 2: ch 1, 2 hdc in same st as join and each st around, join in first hdc (14 hdc)
Change to White
Rnd 3: ch 1, 2 fptr around same st as join, 2 fptr around each st, join in first fptr (28 fptr)
Change to Red
Rnd 4: ch 1, fpdc around same st as join, fpdc around each st, join in first fpdc (28 fpdc)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
