Instructions
12-inch square with color A (White)
Chain 4; join with a slip stitch to form a ring.
Round 1: Chain 1 (see notes) work 8 sc in the ring; join with a slip stitch in top of 1st sc. (8 sc)
Round 2: Chain 1, work 2 hdc in same stitch as join and in each stitch around; join with a slip stitch in top of 1st hdc (16 hdc)
Round 3: Chain 1, work 2 hdc in same stitch as join, * hdc in next stitch, work 2 hdc in next stitch, * repeat from * to * around; join with a slip stitch in top of 1st hdc. (24hdc)
Round 4: Chain 1, hdc in same stitch as join and in next 4 stitches, work (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) corner made, * hdc in next 5 stitches, work corner in next stitch, * repeat 2 more times; joining with slip stitch in top of 1st hdc. (5 hdc on each side and 4 corners)
Round 5: Chain 1, dc in same stitch as join and in the next 6 stitches, work corner in chain 2 space, dc in the next 9 stitches, work corner in chain 2 space, dc in next 9 stitches, work corner in chain 2 space, dc in next 9 stitches, work corner in chain 2 space, ending with dc in last 2 stitches; join with a slip stitch in top of 1st dc. (13 dc on each side and 4 corners)
Round 6: Repeat Round 5 increasing dc on each side evenly between corners
Round 7: Slip Stitch over to the corner space, work 2 dc in the corner space, working down the side, dc in the next 17 stitches, work corner, working across the bottom, dc in the next 17 stitches, work corner, working up the side, dc in the next 17 stitches, work 2 dc in the corner.
Fasten off Color A; attach Color B
Chain 1, work 2 trc in the corner space, working across the top, trc in the next 17 stitches, work (2 trc, chain 1) in the corner; join with a slip stitch in the top of the 1st dc.
Row 1: Chain 1, work 2 trc in the corner space, trc the next 17 stitches, work 2 trc in the corner space. (21 trc) Turn
Fasten off Color B; attach Color C
Row 2: Chain 2 (counts as 1st stitch), * work 1 dc in between 2 dc in previous row; repeat from * across, ending with a dc in the last stitch. (21 dc)
Row 3: Repeat Row 2
Fasten off Color C; attach Color B
Rows 4-9: Repeat Row 2
Fasten Off and weave in ends.
Face
Working with Color D
Free hand satin stitch 1 eye over the corners of Rows 4 and 5. Fasten Off Repeat for other eye. Fasten off.
Working with Color E
Satin stitch the carrot nose starting at the center circle working your way outwards. Fasten Off.
Working with Color C
Use the running stitch to work mouth from corner to corner on Round 6. Fasten Off.
