I received a complimentary sample of the product Crochet Hook Set to review however, I was not financially compensated in any to give a positive review. The views voiced here are my own and are constructed on my own encounters.
Do you love getting new crochet hooks? Well if you hang out with me then you know I am infatuated with trying different hook types. When I received the opportunity to try the new Haven For Hands ergonomic crochet hook set, I was really excited and jumped at the chance! This set includes 9 ergonomic hooks that are engraved with the hook sizes (US and Metric) with each hook having a different colored handle. The ergonomic handles help you crochet easily for hours, which is fantastic for those who have arthritis!
I absolutely love the canvas carrying case the hooks came in along with a few essential notions!
The set includes:
- 9 crochet hooks: Sizes B (2mm), C (2.5mm), D (3.5mm), G (4mm), 7 (4.5mm), H (5mm), I (5.5mm), and J (6mm)
- Folding Scissors
- Locking stitch markers
- Measuring Tape
- Canvas Carrying Case
Crochet Hooks Information:
Each hook has a different colored handle to help determine the different hooks. Each hook is also engraved with the hook size in both US and metric sizes. The hooks are metal with a soft grip handle that helps prevent slipping. The handles also have indents for you to place your fingers to help hold the hooks better. I prefer metal hooks verses the plastic hooks. It took me a little while to adjust using a crochet hook with a handle. I can honestly say that after adjusting it is hard to crochet with a hook that doesn’t have a handle and my hand tends to hurt.
I do recommend that you pay attention to the hook size that the pattern calls for and check the millimeters on the hooks more so than the letter size. I realized that the three smaller hooks are off by .25mm from the standard sizes. However, the hooks would be great to add to a standard set of hooks. I also realized that this lovely set does not include a size E (3.5mm) or F (3.75mm) hooks but for me that’s not a big deal. I don’t use that small of a hook that often.
The Case and Notions:
You can roll up and store this lovely canvas cloth case with printed flowers in your bag. The case has a separate pocket for each hook, a flap that covers the heads of the hooks, a nice zipper pocket to store your notions, and an outside pocket for storing notes or other little items.
The notions are of great quality too. The foldable scissors are sturdy and sharp. The 10 plastic locking stitch markers will really come in handy with my projects. I also really like the standard small retractable measuring tape.
This set would be a great gift for a new crocheter! It has everything they will need to get started and they are very affordable hooks compared to others. They offer a money back guarantee if you are not happy with the set PLUS they will send you a replacement! That’s what I call great customer service! If you would like a set for yourself or to give as a gift, you can purchase it from Amazon.
