Level of Difficulty – Beginner/Intermediate
Yarn – Partial skein of Red Heart Boutique Gleam, color Canyon, and small amount of Red Heart Boutique Gleam, color Toasty #4
Hook and Notions – Size Hook: H (5mm)
Measurement – Laying flat foot width 7 inches, top width 4 inches, height 10 inches
Gauge – Foot part 10 stitches + 5 rows = 2 inches (over sc)
Ch = chain
Sc = single crochet
Hdc = half double crochet
Dc = double crochet
FHDC = foundation half double crochet
Foundation Half Double Crochet (FHDC) – Chain 2, yarn over, insert hook into first chain (2nd from the hook), yarn over, pull up through the first loop on the hook (this is your first chain loop). With 3 loops on hook, yarn over, pull through 3. * Yarn over, insert your hook into the first chain loop, yarn over, pull up a loop (this is your second chain loop), yarn over, pull through 3. 2 fhdc completed. Repeat from * until you reach the desired number of fhdc.
Single Crochet Two Together (sc2tog) – insert hook into indicated stitch and draw up a loop, insert hook into next stitch and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on the hook.
FHDC 32 (see Special Stitches)
Rows 1-15: Chain 1, work (sc, hdc, 2 dc) in same stitch, * skip the next 3 stitches, work (sc, hdc, 2 dc) in the next chain, * repeat from * to * across, ending with skip the next 3 stitches, sc in the last chain. Turn (8 bubbles = 32 stitches)
Row 16: Chain 1, sc in the 1st 12 stitches, work (2 sc in the next 8 stitches), sc in the last 12 stitches. Turn (40 sc)
Row 17: Chain 1, sc in the 1st 12 stitches, * work (2 sc in the next sc, sc in the next stitch), 7 more times, sc in the last 12 stitches. Turn (48 sc)
Row 18: Chain 1, work 2 sc in 1st sc, sc in the next 46 sc, work 2 sc in the last sc. Turn (50 sc)
Rows 19-23: Chain 1, hdc in each sc across. Turn
Row 24: Chain 1, sc in the 1st 20 hdc, sc2tog (5 times), sc in last 20 hdc. Turn (45 sc)
Row 25: Chain 1, sc2tog, sc in the next 18 sc, sc2tog, sc, sc2tog, sc in the next 18 sc, sc2tog over the last 2 stitches. Turn (41 sc)
Row 26: Chain 1, sc2tog, sc across to the last 2 sc, sc2tog. (39sc)
Fasten Off and leave long enough tail for sewing
Attach Toasty at top of stocking at the beginning chain
Row 1: Chain 1 (doesn’t count as stitch), hdc in the same stitch as chain, hdc in each stitch across. Turn (32 hdc)
Rows 2-5: Repeat Row 1
Row 6: Chain 1 (doesn’t count as a stitch), sc in the same stitch, * chain 3, skip the next 2 stitches, sc, * repeat from * to * across to the last stitch, sc in the last stitch.
Fasten off do not weave in ends.
Sewing Stocking Together
Fold stocking inside out. With matching color start at the toe use your favorite stitch to sew together. Turn the stocking right side out. Using the cuff color sew the cuff together.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Using the cuff color (toasty) attach at the top of your cuff seam
Chain 25, slip stitch at the seam above the trim cuff trim, chain 1, hdc in each chain.
Fasten off do not weave in ends.
