Basic stitches, simple shaping and finishing.
Concentration required.
Yarn: Approx 30-60 yards Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton – Lemon
Hook: 3.25 mm
Size: approx. 3 inches x 5 inches

Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect
I use US Crochet stitch terminology
Abbreviations:
CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet
DC – double crochet
INSTRUCTIONS:
NOTE: Pattern is worked over a multiple of 6 plus 2
CH 14
RND 1: Work 1 SC into the 2nd CH from hook;
*SKIP 2 CH; work [1 DC; 3 CH; 1 DC] into next CH. SKIP 2 CH;
work 1 SC into next CH.
Repeat from * until LAST 3 STS; SKIP 2; work 1 CH into last CH.
TURN
RND 2: CH 4 (counts as 1 DC and 1 CH); work 1 DC into SAME ST (the first SC) as 4 CH;
*work 1 SC into NEXT 3 CH space; work [1 DC; 3 CH; 1 DC] into NEXT SC.
Repeat from * until LAST SC; work [1 DC; 1 CH; 1 DC] into SC.
TURN
RND 3: CH 1; work 1 SC into 1 CH space; work [1 DC; 3 CH; 1 DC] into next SC;
*work 1 SC into NEXT 3 CH space; work [1 DC; 3 CH; 1 DC] into NEXT SC.
Repeat from until end; working 1 SC into 1 CH space.
TURN
Repeat RND 2 & RND 3 for pattern
Fasten off and weave in ends.
For the soap cozy – continue working pattern until piece fits ‘lengthwise’ snugly around your soap.
Then turn work to work a row of SC evenly down one side.
TURN and work 4 more rows of SC.
NOTE: these 4 rows are the bottom of the cozy.
Fold piece in HALF and SL ST the two sides together.
CH 1 at the end then SC a row all around the TOP of the cozy; careful to leave the top open.
Then CH 20 or how long your would like the ‘hanging loop’ SL ST into the ST below the start of the loop chain.
Fasten off and weave in all ends.
With starting tail sew bottom pieces together.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Flower:
Make a magic ring;
Work 12 SC into ring; SL ST into first SC made;
CH 4; work 2 DC into first SC; CH 4; SL ST into SAME SC;
SKIP next SC;
*CH 4; work 2 DC into next SC; CH 4; SL ST into SAME SC;
SKIP next SC.
Repeat from * 4 more times.
(6 petals made)
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Sew 3 buttons into position on the opposite end of the loops.
Sew button as a center for the flower; then sew flower into position onto the head band.
