Welcome to the Magical Retro Christmas Stocking Crochet Along! I am beyond excited to be kicking off this mystery Christmas stocking with you today. I love getting ready for the holidays and spreading excitement all around. My goal for this mystery crochet along is for us to have a lot of fun, create a awesome Christmas stocking, and share our work with one another. Enjoy!

Beginner/Intermediate

Yarn
Worsted weight #4, Color A 472 yds & Color B, 728 yards

Hook and Notions
Size Hook: K (10.5 mm), scissors, stitch markers, and blunt needle

Measurement
10” wide x 19“ long

Gauge
4 sts + 6 rows = 2 inches

Abbreviations
Ch/chs = chain/chains
Hdc = half double crochet
sc dec = single crochet decrease
hdc dec = half double crochet decrease

Notes
Worked using two strands of yarn
Worked in the round
Chain 1 at beginning of each round doesn’t count unless otherwise stated.

Special Stitches
Elongated Single Crochet – insert hook in the indicated stitch 2 rows below, yarn over the hook and pull up a loop, stretching it to height required for the current Row, yarn over and draw it through both loops on the hook.

Instructions

COLORS: Color A ~ Retro Stripe; Color B ~ White

Stocking-Leg
Working with Color A
Chain 45, join with a slip stitch in the 1st chain. Be careful not to twist.

Round 1: Chain 1 (See Notes),
hdc in same stitch as join and,
in each stitch around; join with a slip stitch into 1st hdc. (45 hdc)

Rounds 2-3: Repeat Round 1

Round 4: Chain 1 (See Notes),
sc in same stitch and in each stitch around;
join with a slip stitch into 1st sc. (45 sc)
Do Not Fasten Off. Attach Color B

Round 5: Chain 1 (See Notes), sc in the same stitch as join,
* working over the next sc in the last row,
work elongated sc (See Special Stitches) in the next sc 2 rows below,
sc in the next sc, *
repeat from * to * around;
join with a slip stitch in 1st sc. (45 sts)

Rounds 6-28: Repeat Rounds 4 and 5
