Abbreviations
Ch/chs = chain/chains
Dc = double crochet
FPdc = front post double crochet
BPdc = back post double crochet
Tr = treble crochet
Special Stitches
V Stitch
Dc, ch 1, dc in indicated stitch
Special V Stitch
Dc, ch 2, dc in indicated stitch
Puff Stitch
(Yarn Over hook, pick up a loop in designated stitch) 3 times, yarn over, draw through all 7 loops on hook, chain 1
BPDC – back post double crochet
Step 1: yarn over on hook.
Step 2: Insert hook into hole next to the post of the next stitch, on the “hook side” from back to front
Step 3: Bring the hook back to the back of the fabric around the post, to the hole farther from the hook.
Step 4: yarn over and draw through a loop, bringing it through both sides of the fabric. (3 loops on hook)
Step 5: yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook. (2 loops remaining on hook)
Step 6: yarn over and draw through remaining 2 loops on hook.
FPDC – front post double crochet
Insert your hook into the front of your work, behind the indicated stitch, and then through your work such that your hook is now at the front of your work again. Pull through final 2 loops on your hook.
Notes
If you are having issues with Round 5 curling you may add a Chain 1 after working the Puff Stitch. It should not effect the rest of the design.

INSTRUCTIONS
Working With A
Chain 4, slip stitch to for a ring
Round 1: Chain 4 (counts as a dc and ch 1),
* dc, chain 1, * repeat around 11 more times. (12 dc, 12 ch 1 spaces)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join B with a Slip Stitch into Chain 1 space
Round 2: Chain 1 (doesn’t count),
work (dc, ch 1, dc) into same space, chain 1,
* work V stitch in next chain 1 space, chain 1,
repeat from * 10 more times;
slip stitch into the top of the 1st dc. (12 ch 1 spaces, 12 V stitches)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join C with a slip stitch into any chain 1 space of V stitch
Round 3: Chain 1 (doesn’t count),
work Puff stitch into same space as join,
* TR around next ROUND 1 dc, work Puff stitch in chain 1 space of V stitch, *
repeat from * 10 more times;
join with a slip stitch into 1st sc. (12 TR, 12 Puff stitches)
Join A with a slip stitch in top of Puff stitch
Round 4: Chain 5 (counts as a dc and ch 1)
work 1 dc in same stitch (counts as a Special V stitch),
* chain 2, work Special V stitch (see special stitches) in top of Puff stitch, *
repeat around 10 more times;
join with a slip stitch in top of 1st Special V stitch. (12 Special V stitches & 12 ch 2 sp)
Join Color B in Ch 2 space of any Special V stitch
Round 5: Ch 1 (doesn’t count) work Puff stitch in same as join,
* FPtr around Round 3 TR, chain 2,
Puff in chain 2 space of Special V stitch, *
repeat from * 10 more times;
join with a slip stitch in top of 1st Puff stitch. (12 Puffs, 12 FPtr, 12 ch 2 sp)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Squaring
Join C into any tr
Round 6: Chain 3 (counts as dc),
work (2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc] into same stitch, ch 4,
* work hdc into next tr, ch 4, work hdc into next tr,
ch 4, work (3 dc; chain 3, 3 dc) into next tr, *
repeat from * 2 more times;
join with a slip stitch into 3rd chain of chain 3. (4 corners, 12 ch 4 sp, 8 hdc)
Join in ch 3 corner space
Round 7: Chain 1 (doesn’t count),
* work (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) into corner, dc into the next 3 dc,
work 4 dc into next chain 4 space,
dc into next hdc, work 5 dc into chain,
dc into next hdc, work 4 dc into next chain 4 space,
hdc into next 3 dc; repeat from * 3 more times;
join with a slip stitch in the 1st dc. (25 dc on each side = 100 dc & 4 ch 2 sp)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join B in any Chain 2 corner space
Round 8: Chain 1 (doesn’t count),
* work corner, BPdc around each dc across, *
repeat from * to * 3 more times;
join with a slip stitch in 1st dc. (16 dc, 25 BPdc = 100 BPdc , 4 ch 2 spaces)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join A in any Chain 2 corner space
Round 9: Chain 1 (doesn’t count),
* work 3 dc in the corner chain 2 space,
BPdc around each BPdc and dc, *
repeat from * around;
join with a slip stitch in in top of 1st dc. (29 BPdc, 12 dc)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

In round 5, is there a chain 2 after the puff stitch? The count has 24 chain 2 spaces at the end, but I only see chain 2 after the treble crochet. Perhaps I am reading it wrong.
