Plum Blossom Square

This is an easy pattern and works up quickly. This square would make a great addition for a blanket made of different squares or work up this square in different colors. I used Red Heart with Love yarn and a Brittany I hook.
Yarn: Red Heart with Love #4 (4 oz,141 g, 230 yds, 211 m) Plum Jam
Hook: Brittany I
12 inches square
Ch/chs = chain/chains
Dc = double crochet
Hdc = half double crochet
Sc = single crochet
Sl st = slip stitch
Sp/sps = space/spaces
St/sts = stitch/stitches
V st = V stitch
V stitch – (dc, ch 1, dc) in designated chain or space
Ch 4 at beginning of rows counts as first dc and ch 1 space
Ch 33 or any multiple of 4 + 1
Row 1: V st in 3rd ch from hook (skipped chs count as turning ch and first sc) * sk next ch, sc in next ch, ** sk next ch, V st in next ch *, repeat from * to * across ending last repeat at ** turn
Row 2: Ch 4 (counts as first dc and ch 1 space), * (sc, ch 1) in v st, (dc, ch 1) in next sc *, repeat from * to * across working last (dc, ch 1) into turning ch of previous row. Last ch 1 made counts as turning ch and first sc for the next row; turn
Row 3: * V st in next sc, sc in next dc * repeat from * to * across turn
Rows 4 – 22: Repeat rows 2 and 3 ending with a row 2 turn
Ch 1, 2 hdc in same st, hdc in next 29 sts, 3 hdc in last st (corner made), evenly space 29 hdc down the side to last st, 3 hdc in last st, hdc in each open loop on starting ch to last st, 3 hdc in last st, evenly space 29 hdc down the side, putting 1 hdc in beginning st; join by sl st into first hdc.
Fasten off and weave in ends
