Pumpkin Spice Coaster

The Pumpkin Spice coaster is made using Seedling yarn in orange and brown and a H hook. It is very easy to make using the Herringbone double crochet stitch and has a crab stitch finish. Make several for your Thanksgiving table setting or just to place around the room for decorations this holiday season.
Yarn: Verde Collection Seedling by Classic Elite Yarns worsted/Aran weight, in colors # 4523Burnt Orange (color A) approximately 100 yds and # 4578 Sepia (color B) approximately 25 yds. Seedling is 100% organic cotton, 50g/110 yds
Hook: Boye H
Laying flat 7 inch square
Ch/chs = chain/chains
Dc = double crochet
Sl st = slip stitch
Sp/sps = space/spaces
St/sts = stitch/stitches
Herringbone Double Crochet – (Hb dc) – yo, insert hook into indicated stitch, yo draw loop up and through, first loop on hook, (2 loops on hook), yo and draw through 1 loop on hook, yo and draw through both loops on hook. (Hb dc completed)
Reverse Single Crochet aka Crab Stitch – This is worked from left to right (or opposite direction)
With right side of project facing you Chain 1, * insert hook into next stitch to right, yarn over and pull through, (2 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through both loops *. Continue working from * to * until you have reached the end of project. Slip stitch into first chain 1 and fasten off, weave in ends.
Ch 2 at end of rows counts as first dc of next row
With color A: Ch 21
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across; ch 2 turn (20 sc)
Row 2: Hb-dc in 1s st and each st across to last st, dc in last st, ch 2 turn (18 hb-dc, 2 dc)
Rows 3 – 12: repeat row 2, FO color A, attach color B
Work the crab stitch around putting 3 sts in each corner st.
FO and weave in ends
