At the beginning of each year I make New Year’s Resolutions. However, the past few years for one reason or the other I have not kept the Resolutions. I know that keeping every resolution may not work but I have realized if I do not set goals and try I will not grow as a person or business! The world of Crochet is large and even with my experience there is still so much more I can learn! Here are a few things I would like to accomplish this year.
1. Learn a new crochet technic!
Last year I learned the Crocodile stitch, C2C (Corner-to-Corner) and other stitches. I also learned how to crochet with Red Heart Sashay yarn. I love how it works up! I still have some of the projects but most of them I have already sold. I will try to get pictures of what I still have soon.
This year I would like to learn Entrelac, more on the Broomstick Lace stitch, and the Bavarian stitch.
2. Write more patterns!
I have million-n-one ideas in my notebook and in my head.
3. I would like to get at least one pattern published in a crochet magazine or yarn company.
I have been doing some investigating and I am excited about the possibilities. I want to take it to the next step as a designer.
4. Blog more!
I would like to try to blog at least 2-3 days a week and hopefully not post them late at night! I will be adding more tutorials, patterns and crochet tips!!!
5. Prayer, Charity, and Donations
I want to make preemie hats, cancer hats, and hats for the homeless then donate them to each organization throughout the year. I would prefer to do this more locally in our area hospitals and shelters. I have a lot of skeins and scraps of yarn that can be quickly made into darling little hats. I think setting a goal would be beneficial. I feel reasonably sure that I can make around 100 or so per month. I would also like to start making prayer shawls and lapaghans for those who have lost a loved one or is going through something and just needs to feel that someone is thinking of them in their time of need. When I used to make these I would pray over each project while making it. Once I was done I would write a short little note along with a Scripture.
