Part 18
Hi everyone! I’m excited to be bringing you Part 18 of the Wonder Crochet Blanket CAL 2016! I hope you are enjoying making your Wonder Crochet Blanket along with us as we design each part.
I have included some photo tutorials to help you along the way in case you get stuck.
Level: Easy to Intermediate
MATERIALS:
Yarn: Red Heart Soft, worsted weight #4, 100% Acrylic, 5oz/141g/256 yds/234m, (I used approximately 100 yds of Wine and Off White)
Hook: 5.50 mm (I)
MEASUREMENT:
Estimated Finished Size: (depending on your yarn choice and gauge) 52 inches wide and 60 inches long plus edging
ABBREVIATIONS:
Sc = single crochet
Ch = chain
Dc = Double Crochet
Sk = Skip
Hdc = Half Double Crochet
Sp = Space
Part 18:
I started out using Wine
Note: Work this row if you ended on an uneven row (for example Part 17): CH 2, DC in each st and ch 1 sp, work 2 dc in ch 2 sp, across. Turn (165 dc)
Change Color; I changed to Off White
Row 1: CH 3 (counts as a dc), dc in the next 2 dc, * ch 3, sk the next 3 dc, dc in each of the next 2 dc; repeat from * across, ending with ch 3, sk the next 3 dc, dc in the last 3 dc, dc in top of the turning-ch-3. Turn (32 chain 3 spaces, 69 double crochet Sc = 165 stitches)
Change Color; I changed to Wine
Row 2: CH 6 (counts as dc and ch 3), sk the first 3 sts * working over the ch-2 sp of the previous row (enclosing it inside the chain) dc in the next 3 dc 2 rows below, ch 2, sk next 2 dc; repeat from * across, ending with hdc in top of turning-ch. Turn
Change Color; I changed to Off White
Row 3: CH 2 (counts as hdc), * working over the ch-2 sp, dc in the next 2 dc 2 rows below, ch 3, sk the next 3 dc; repeat from * across, ending with working over the ch-2 sp, dc in the next 2 dc 2 rows below, hdc in the second ch of the turning-ch-6. Turn
Change Color; I changed to Wine
Row 4: CH 5 (counts as dc and ch 2), sk the first 3 sts * working over the ch-2 sp of the previous row (enclosing it inside the chain) dc in the next 3 dc 2 rows below, ch 2, sk next 2 dc; repeat from * across, ending with hdc in top of turning-ch. Turn
Change Color; I changed to Off White
Row 5: CH 2 (counts as hdc), * working over the ch-2 sp, dc in the next 2 dc 2 rows below, ch 3, sk the next 3 dc; repeat from * across, ending with working over the ch-2 sp, dc in the next 2 dc 2 rows below, hdc in the second ch of the turning-ch-5. Turn
Change Color; I changed to Wine
Row 6: Repeat row 4.
Change Color; I changed to Off White
Row 7 : CH 2, * dc in next 2 dc 2 rows below, hdc in next 3 dc * repeat across
