FPdc = front post double crochet

Chain 1 at the beginning of the round does not count unless otherwise stated.
Chain 4 at the beginning of the round counts as a dc and chain 1 unless otherwise stated.

Special Stitches
- BEG CL:
Make 3 CH, then yarn over insert hook into the ring;
yarn over and pull thru;
yarn over and pull thru first 2 loops ( 2 loops left on hook); yarn over hook; insert hook into ring;
yarn over and pull thru;
yarn over and pull thru first 2 loops (3 loops on hook left); yarn over and pull thru all 3 loops. - CL: Work 3DCtog (work 3 double crochet together
- BPDC – back post double crochet
Step 1: yarn over on hook.
Step 2: Insert hook into hole next to the post of the next stitch, on the “hook side” from back to front
Step 3: Bring the hook back to the back of the fabric around the post, to the hole farther from the hook.
Step 4: yarn over and draw through a loop, bringing it through both sides of the fabric. (3 loops on hook)
Step 5: yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook. (2 loops remaining on hook)
Step 6: yarn over and draw through remaining 2 loops on hook. - FPDC – front post double crochet
Insert your hook into the front of your work, behind the indicated stitch, and then through your work such that your hook is now at the front of your work again. Pull through final 2 loops on your hook.

Working With A
Chain 4, slip stitch to for a ring
Round 1: Ch 4 (See Notes), work (dc, ch 1) aroundd 11 more times. (12 dc, 12 ch 1 spaces)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join B with a Slip Stitch into 1st Chain 1 space
Round 2: Ch 5 (See Notes), *dc in the next ch 1 space, ch 2,* repeat around; join with a slip stitch in the 3rd ch of the ch 5. (12 dc, 12 ch 2 sp)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join C with a Slip Stitch into 1st Chain 2 space
Round 3: Ch 6 (See Notes), *dc in the next ch 1 space, ch 3,* repeat around; join with a slip stitch in the 3rd chain of the chain 5. (12 dc, 12 ch 3 sp)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join A with a Slip Stitch into 1st Chain 3 space
Round 4: Work *4 dc CL, ch 5, in each ch 3 space from Round 3*, repeat around; join with a slip stitch in top of first cluster. (12 clusters, 5 sp)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join B with a sc in top of any cluster
Round 5: Ch 2, work 1 FPdc over the next Round 3 dc, ch 2, *work 1 sc in top of next cluster, ch 2, FPdc over next Round 3 dc, ch 2,* repeat around; join with a Slip Stitch in to first sc (12 FPdc, 12 sc, 24 ch 2 sp)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join C with a sc in any sc of previous Round 5
Round 6: Ch 2, work sc into the 5 ch space of Round 4, ch 2, *work 1 sc into next sc, ch 2, work 1 sc into ch 5 space of Round 4, ch 2,* repeat around; join with a slip stitch into first sc. (10 sc, 24 ch 2 sps)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Squaring the Circle
Join A into any sc worked into the top of a cluster.
Round 7: Ch 3 (counts as dc), work (1 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same sc, ch 2, work FPdc over FPdc from previous Round 4, *ch 2, sc into next sc, ch 2, work FPdc over FPdc of Round 4,* repeat 1 more time, ch 2, work (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) into next sc,** repeat from *to** two more times; join with a slip stitch into the top of the beginning ch 3. (3 FPdc, 2 sc, 6 ch 2 sps – on each side, & 4 corners)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join B in any Chain 2 corner space
Round 8: Work corner (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc), work 1 dc in each [dc, sc & FPdc] and work 2 dc in each chain 2 space; join with a slip stitch into the top of the 1st dc. (25 dc on each side)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join C in any Chain 2 corner space
Round 9: Ch 1 (doesn’t count), *work corner, BPdc around each dc;* join with a slip stitch into the top of the 1st BPdc. (25 BPdc on each side)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Join A in any Chain 2 corner space
Round 10: Ch 1 (doesn’t count), *work 3 dc in the corner chain 2 space, BPdc around previous BPdc on Round 9 and BPdc around dc in corners on Round 9,* repeat around; join with a slip stitch into the top of the 1st dc. (29 BPdc on each side, 12 dc)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
