Level of Difficulty – Beginner

Yarn – Schachenmayr SMC Catania, #2 Fine, 100% Cotton, 1.75 ozs/137 yds/50g/125 m, Color #0209 used approximately 75 to 100 yds

Hook and Notions – Size Hook: G (4mm)

Measurement – Laying flat width 10 inches, height 8 inches

Gauge – 9 stitches + 8 rows = 2-inches

Abbreviations

BP – back post

Ch = chain

Dc = double crochet

FP – front post

Hdc = half double crochet

Sc = single crochet

Special Stitches:

Seed stitch – work single crochet, double crochet in the indicated stitch.

Notes – 1. Chain 2 at beginning of rows counts as first stitch.

  1. Multiples of 8 stitches + 1 (plus 8 stitches – 4 on each side for the border)

Row 6: Chain 2, skip the next stitch, work seed stitch in the next stitch, skip the next stitch, work seed stitch in the next stitch, hdc in the next 40 stitches, skip the next stitch, work seed stitch in the next stitch, skip the next stitch, work seed stitch in the next stitch, hdc in the last stitch.
