Happy Wednesday, friend! Welcome back to WIP Wednesday — your weekly behind-the-scenes look at what’s currently on my hook. I have some exciting news to share this week, so let’s get right into it.

What Is WIP Wednesday?

Every Wednesday I share whatever crochet projects are currently in progress in my craft room — no finished glamour shots, just honest behind-the-scenes updates on the yarns I’m loving and the stories behind why I’m making what I’m making. It’s one of my favorite things to share, because crochet is so much more than the finished piece.

Where We Left Off

Over the past few weeks I’ve been sharing updates on two baby blanket works in progress — the Stitched With Love Baby Blanket from my Stitched With Love Collection, and the Petals of Hope Baby Blanket, the first pattern in my Garden Grace Collection.

If you missed any of those posts you can catch up on WIP Wednesday: Two Crochet Baby Blankets in Progress, and WIP Wednesday: The Finish Line Is in Sight.

This week I have real news on both. Let’s dive in.

This Week’s Crochet Works in Progress

1. Stitched With Love Baby Blanket — Big News!

Stitched With Love Collection · Currently in testing

I am beyond happy to share that the crocheting on the Stitched With Love Baby Blanket is completely done. I cannot wait to see my granddaughter cuddled up in it. I love making baby blankets, and there is something even more special about making one for someone in your own family. Every single stitch of this one was made with so much love.

This blanket has been my constant companion for weeks. A few rows on a flight, a few rows while running errands, a few rows while spending the weekend on the boat, waiting at the college. Wherever I went, it went with me — and that is honestly one of my favorite things about crochet. It goes where life goes.

Now, being totally honest with you — I did not win yarn chicken. I ended up needing one more skein of I Love This Yarn in the Heather Together colorway to get this blanket across the finish line. I drove an hour and a half to find it. Worth every single minute. ????

I still need to weave in the ends and get photos taken, but the finished reveal is coming soon! The blanket is currently in testing, and once testing is complete it will be heading to the shop. My Patreon members will get early access before it goes live to the public. ????

2. Petals of Hope Baby Blanket — Back on the Hook!

Garden Grace Collection · Coming soon to the shop

The Petals of Hope Baby Blanket is back in my hands and I am so happy to be working on it again. I honestly felt a little bad that it hadn’t gotten much attention lately — I’m sure it felt neglected! But now that the Stitched With Love blanket is done, the Petals of Hope has my full attention.

I have been making notes and working through the math on the hexagon counts — this blanket is made in five colors, with 21 multicolored hexagons, and I’m still working out the details on the remaining color counts. It is a fun puzzle and I am enjoying the planning process.

I cannot wait to show you more of this one as it comes together.

Why I Design Baby Blanket Patterns

Baby blankets hold a special place in my heart — they were one of the first things I ever crocheted after my grandmother taught me at 15, and they have been part of my design work ever since. There is something about crocheting for a new little life — or designing something you know is going to end up wrapped around someone precious — that just fills you up in the best way.

Both of these patterns are being designed with you in mind too. Once they are finished and fully tested, they will be available in the American Crochet shop, ready for you to make for the little ones in your life.

Things are moving right along and I could not be more excited about where both of these blankets are headed. Make sure you are following along — there are some fun reveals coming soon.

If you are looking for your next project in the meantime, the shop has plenty of patterns ready and waiting for you.
