Level of Difficulty – Beginner
Yarn – Red Heart Fashion Soft, Hot Pink; I used 381 yards
Hook and Notions – Size Hook: G (4mm), Scissors, Blunt Needle
Measurement – 7-inches wide and 64-inches long
Gauge – not crucial for this project
Abbreviations
Ch = chain
Dc = double crochet
Sc = single crochet
Notes –
Chain 3 counts as a dc here and throughout unless otherwise stated.
Chain 6 counts as a dc, chain 3 at beginning of row unless otherwise stated.
Instructions
Chain 34
Foundation Row (RS): Sc in the second chain from the hook, *skip the next 3 chains, work (4 dc, chain 1, 4 dc) in the next chain, skip the next 3 chains, sc in the next chain, repeat from the * across. Turn (32 dc, 4 ch 1 spaces, 5 sc)
Row 1 (WS): Chain 6 (see pattern notes), *sc in the next chain 1 space, chain 3, dc in the next sc, chain 3, repeat from * across, chain 3, dc in the last sc. Turn
Row 2: Chain 3 (see pattern notes), * work 3 dc in the next chain 3 space, dc in the next sc, work 3 dc in the next chain 3 space, chain 1, skip the next dc, repeat from the * across, sc in the third chain of the turning chain 6. Turn (30 dc, 3 ch-1 spaces)
Row 3: Chain 1, sc in each of the first 8 dc, * chain 1, skip the next dc, sc in each of the next 7 dc, repeat from the * across. Turn (30 sc & 3 ch-1 spaces)
Row 4: Chain 1, sc in the first sc, * skip the next 3 sc, work (4 dc, chain 1, 4 dc) in the next sc, skip the next 3 sc, working over the chain 1, dc in the next chain 1 space 2 rows below, repeat from * across, sc in the last sc. Turn
Repeat Rows 1-4 until scarf measures 64-inches or desired length.
End with Row 3.
