REQUIREMENTS

Yarn
Red Heart, Super Saver Stripes – Preppy Stripe, 100% Acrylic; 120 yards total, Worsted Weight, #4
Hook and Notions – Size Hook: H (5mm), scissors, blunt needle, 1-inch button
Measurement
8-inches wide and 12-inches long (folded and including flap – not buttoned)
Gauge
3 pattern repeats = 4-inches
Abbreviations
Ch = chain
Sc = single crochet
Dc = double crochet

Instructions
Chain 26
Foundation Row 1 (WS): Sc in the second chain from the hook, * skip the next chain, work 3 dc in the chain, skip the next chain, sc in the next chain, repeat from the * across. Turn
Foundation Row 2: Chain 3 (see pattern notes), dc in the first sc, * skip the next dc, sc in the next dc, work (dc, ch 1, dc) in the next sc, repeat from the * across, ending with skip the next dc, sc in the next dc, work 2 dc in the last sc. Turn
Row 1 (WS): Chain 1, sc in the first dc, * work 3 dc in the next sc, sc in the next chain 1 space, repeat from the * across, ending with work 3 dc in the next sc, sc in the top of the turning chain 3. Turn
Row 2: Chain 3, dc in the first sc, * skip the next dc, sc in the next dc, working over the sc of the previous row, work (tr, ch 1, tr) in the next chain 1 space 2 rows below, repeat from the * across, ending with skip the next dc, sc in the next dc, work 2 dc in the last sc. Turn
Rows 3-49: Repeat Row 1 and 2 until it measures 22-inches.
Fold cover up 10-inches, leaving 2-inches for the flap. Pin the top of the sides and half way down the sides. This helps keep it in place.
Row 50: Slip Stitch across to the center of cover. Chain 8, slip stitch into the next stitch and across.
Slip Stitch down 2-inches on the side.
Do this on both sides
Using the mattress stitch sew the sides together.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Center the button under the loop. Then sew the button down.
