Frosty Kisses Blanket ~ Crochet Along

REQUIREMENTS

Level of Difficulty
Advanced Beginner

Yarn
What colors? Whatever your heart desires. You can use multiple colors, a solid color or a gradient of sorts.
You can work with my suggested yarn and color or select your own yarn and colors!
However, depending on the weight of the yarn will depend on how defined your stitches are.

Hooks and Notions
Hooks: I (5.5mm), scissors, tape measure and blunt yarn needle

Measurement
36 inches – using Baby Hugs yarn.

Gauge
Mine is 5 hdc + 4 rows = 2-inches (beginning of blanket)
using the Red Heart Baby Hugs yarn

Abbreviations – US Terminology
Ch/chs = chain/chains
Sc = single crochet
Hdc = half double crochet
St(s) = stitch(s)
Exsc = extended single crochet
CL = cluster

I used Red Heart Baby Hugs #4 in Ink, Princess, Frosting, and Happy. You may use any size yarn and the recommended hook size. However, depending on the weight of the yarn will depend on how defined your stitches are.
If your yarn suggests using a I hook, then that’s what you will use. UNLESS you crochet to tight or to loose. Then you may want to adjust your hook size accordingly.
Chain 3 at beginning of row does counts as a stitch.

Special Stitches
Cluster (CL) –
yarn over, insert hook into indicated stitch and draw up one loop (3 times). Yarn over and draw through all 7 loops on the hook.

COLORS: A – Ink; B – Princess; C – Frosting; D – Happy

Working with Color A

Row 50: Chain 3, sc into chain 1 space, *CL in the next space, sc in the next stitch,* repeat from *to* across, ending with (sc, ch 1, hdc) in chain 3 space. Turn (104, ch 1)

Row 51: Chain 3, sc into chain 1 space and in each stitch across, ending with (sc, ch 1, hdc) in chain 3 space. Turn
Fasten off Color A and attach Color B

Row 52: Chain 3, sc into chain 1 space and in next stitch, CL in the next stitch, *sc in next stitch, CL in the next stitch,* repeat from *to* across, ending with (sc, ch 1, hdc) in chain 3 space. Turn

Row 53: Chain 3, sc into chain 1 space and in each stitch across, ending with (sc, ch 1, hdc) in chain 3 space. Turn

Row 54: Chain 2, skip the chain 1 space, sc in next stitch, CL in the next stitch, *sc in next stitch, CL in the next stitch,* repeat from *to* across, ending skip the last stitch, hdc in the chain 3 space. Turn (109 sts)

Row 55: Chain 2, skip the hdc, sc into each stitch across, ending with skip the last stitch, hdc in the chain 2 space. Turn

Row 56: Repeat Row 54
Fasten off Color B and attach Color C

Rows 57-58: Repeat Rows 54 and 55
Fasten off Color C and attach Color D

Rows 59-64: Repeat Rows 54 and 55
Fasten off Color D and attach Color A
