Level of Difficulty – Intermediate
Yarn – Bulky #5 roughly 50 yards
Hook and Notions – Size Hook: H (5.0mm)
Measurement – Laying flat width top 6 inches, ribbed area 5 inches; height 5 ½ inches
Gauge – Not important for this project
Abbreviations
BLO = back loop only
Ch = chain
Dc = double crochet
Fp = front post
Hdc = half double crochet
Sc = single crochet
Trc = treble crochet
Notes – Chain multiples of 2
Always skip the stitch behind the FP trc.
Boot ribbing is worked in rows, sewed together. The top is worked in the round
Chain 1 at beginning of rows for ribbing does not count as a stitch.
Boot Cuff Instructions
Make 2
Ribbing
Chain 10
Row 1: Sc in 2nd chain from hook and in each chain across. Turn (9 sc)
Working Back Loops Only (BLO)
Row 2: Chain 1 (does not counts as stitch), sc same stitch, sc the next 8 stitches. Turn (9 sc)
Row 3 – 32: Repeat Row 2
Slip stitch or sew ribbing together. Working in side stitches of ribbing
Round 1: Chain 1, sc in same stitch and sc in end of each row around; join with slip stitch in top of 1st sc. (32 sc)
Round 2: Chain 1, sc in same stitch and sc in stitch around; join with slip stitch in top of 1st sc. (32 sc)
Round 3: (Right Side) Chain 1, sc in first sc, * FPTrc in the next sc 2 rows below, skip the sc after the last sc made, sc in the next stitch, repeat from the * around, ending with sc in the last sc; join with slip stitch in top of 1st sc. (16 FPTrc, 16 sc) Round 4: Repeat Round 2 (32 sc)
Round 5: Repeat Round 3 (32sts)
Round 6: Repeat Round 2 (32 sc)
Round 7: Repeat Round 3 (32 sts)
Round 8: Repeat Round 2 (32 sc)
Fasten off and weave in ends
