Happy New Year!!
I would like to take a moment to wish you a Happy New Year! I hope 2019 is off to a great start and is filled with joy, love and happiness. There are several new things in the works for American Crochet, Crafting A Rainbow Of Hope, and my personal life. I look forward to sharing these journeys with you throughout the year.
I am sure you have been wondering why I have not been around much the past few weeks. December 11, 2018 our sweet baby girl Cry Baby went to doggie heaven. Words cannot begin to explain how hard that was for us. We miss her very much. After Kevin (my husband), the kids, and I talked about our loss for Cry Baby and how much we missed having a fur baby in the house we decided to get another dog. So, on December 15, 2018 we ended up adding two 4 month old Deer Headed Chihuahuas to our family. They were the last two of a litter of seven. We chose to name them Peanut Butter and Jelly Bean.
My husband has talked about how much he’d like to have an English Bulldog but I have always said no. Well during the Christmas holidays he starts talking about wanting one again and I finally caved and said that I would be okay with getting one. After doing some research he decides that an English Bulldog and Chihuahuas aren’t a good mix. He comes across a website that breeds Italian Greyhounds and we both fall in love with one of the puppies. After talking with the breeder on December 26th we start making arrangements to drive to Dallas on the 28th to pick up our newest addition to our family. I am not going to lie, I wanted to go pick her up right then. LOL Having to wait a few days was extremely difficult.
Not really knowing what all we would need to bring our 8 week baby home I just went with my motherly instincts. I got this cute doggie bag called Premium Dog Travel Set. I love this bag! It has two silicon collapsible bowls, two lined food cases, a secret spare leash, a zip-off placemat, and lots of storage. I was able to add a water bottle, chew toys, blankets, wet wipes and a few other things in the bag and still had room. On December 28th Kevin and I headed to Dallas that evening. We picked Blitz up on December 29th and started heading back home. Making the trip from Dallas back to Houston was eventful in so many ways and we had a lot of fun as well.
I think it is safe to say that my husband and I went a little crazy with toys, doggie beds, and other items for the girls. We are so blessed to have these three beautiful, full of life, lovable girls as part of our family. I look forward to sharing more of our journey with you throughout the year.
Now that I have shared some of our personal life with you let me share some new things about American Crochet (Mistie Bush Designs) and Crafting A Rainbow Of Hope. This year will make our second year of traveling to different fiber events with our hand dyed yarns, new crochet designs, hand dyed fiber, accessories and much more. We will be at DFW Fiber Fest, Yellow Rose Fiber Producers Fiesta, TAGRA (Texas Angora Goat Raisers’ Association), Kid ‘N Ewe and Lamas Too just to name a few. If you are in the area please stop by, we would love to see you. You can find out all the details and other fiber events that we will be at by checking out the Upcoming Festivals tab on the home page. I will keep this page updated throughout the year.
I have planned a few year long crochet alongs as well as a few short term crochet alongs. I will continue to release new patterns throughout each month as well as giving older designs a fresh make over. There will be giveaways, reviews, collaborations, and maybe a few other awesome things if all goes according to plan, throughout the year.
We will be kicking off our First crochet along February 1, 2019. To Find out more details >> Click HERE <<
This year I hope Crafting A Rainbow Of Hope (CAROH) is able to donate to more charity organizations. Last year we donate to over 10 organizations. If you are able to help by donating knit and/or crochet squares, beanies, baby booties, scarves, ect. it would be greatly appreciated. Keep an look out on the Crafting A Rainbow Of Hope tab for more information. I will keep this page updated throughout the year.
