  • Crochet With Mistie! ~ Part One
    • Instructions

Requirements

Level of Difficulty: Advanced Beginner

Yarn: What colors? Whatever your heart desires. You can use multiple colors, a solid, or a gradient — the only requirement is that your colors make you happy. 💛 Work with my suggested yarn and colors or pick your own. Just note that the weight of the yarn affects how defined your stitches are.

Hooks & Notions: I (5.5 mm) hook, scissors, tape measure, and a blunt yarn needle.

Measurement: 40 inches – using Dreamy yarn.

Gauge: 12 hdc + 2 rows = 4 inches (beginning of blanket), using Red Heart With Love yarn.

Abbreviations – US Terminology

  • Ch/chs = chain/chains
  • Sc = single crochet
  • Hdc = half double crochet
  • St(s) = stitch(es)
  • Dc = double crochet
  • BPdc = back post double crochet
  • FPdc = front post double crochet

Pattern Notes

  • Chain 1 at the beginning of a row does NOT count as a stitch.
  • Chain 3 at the beginning of a row DOES count as a stitch.
  • I used 4 colors of Red Heart With Love (#4) yarn. You don’t have to use 4 — use as few or as many colors as your heart desires.
  • You may use any yarn size with its recommended hook. If your yarn suggests an I hook, use that — unless you crochet very tightly or loosely, then adjust accordingly.
  • Because I’m a tight crocheter, I used a J hook to chain so the foundation isn’t too tight (this also keeps it from buckling). Always check your gauge.

Special Stitches: None for this part of the Happy Throw Two.
