Cowl Pattern Notes
- Weigh your yarn cake: ________ grams
- Worked from side to side
- 235 (290, 310, 330, 350, 380) yards. I used #4 worsted weight
- cotton 24/7 Lion Brand in Jade and Magenta (all yardages are based on 52” cowl) I’ve adjusted the pattern slightly, so the cowl is not quite as snug as the original.
- Because I am a tight crocheter I used the I crochet hook to chain with, so the chain isn’t too tight. This will also keep it from buckling. If you crochet loosely then you really shouldn’t have to go up a hook size when chaining. Rule of thumb always check your gauge.
- The cowl measures 7” wide x 52” long, before sewing together.
- Chain 1 at beginning of row does not count unless otherwise stated
- Chain 4 at beginning of row does count as a treble unless otherwise stated.
- This cowl is made in 4 different lengths. Image is displaying a 7” wide x 52” long cowl.
Special Stitches
- Back Post (BP):
Insert hook from back to front around the post of the indicated stitch now complete the stitch as normal.

Seaming and Finishing
Fold the cowl in half lengthwise. Match both ends together and evenly place a stitch marker down what will be the seam. This will help you hold the ends together while sewing.
Fasten off, weave in ends, and enjoy!
I personally place one on each end and the middle.
