Part Four

Hi everyone, today we wrap up the Magical Retro Christmas Stocking Crochet Along! with Part Four. We will be adding the cuff, hanger, and tidying up a few loose ends. Level of Difficulty
Beginner/Intermediate

Yarn
Worsted weight #4, Color A 472 yds & Color B, 728 yards

Hook and Notions
Size Hook: K (10.5 mm), scissors, stitch markers, and blunt needle

Measurement
10” wide x 19“ long

Gauge
4 sts + 6 rows = 2 inches

Abbreviations
Ch/chs = chain/chains
Hdc = half double crochet
sc dec = single crochet decrease
hdc dec = half double crochet decrease
FPhdc = front post half double crochet
FLO hdc = front loop only half double crochet
BLO hdc = back loop only half double crochet

Notes
Worked using two strands of yarn
Worked in the round
Chain 1 at beginning of each round doesn’t count unless otherwise stated.
Rounds 10-11 of the Foot are optional. Work these two rounds if you want the foot of the stocking to be a little longer.

Special Stitches
Hdc dec (Half Double Crochet Decrease):
Yarn over, insert hook in indicated stitch, pull up a loop, yarn over, insert hook into the next stitch, pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through all 5 loops on the hook.

Instructions

COLOR: Color B ~ White

Cuff
Attach Color B at top of stocking
Working on opposite side of the unworked chain

Round 1: Chain 1 (See Notes),
hdc in same stitch as join and,
in each stitch around; join with a slip stitch in 1st hdc. (45 hdc)

Round 2: Repeat Round 1

Round 3: Chain 1 (See Notes),
FPhdc around same stitch as join,
FPhdc around each stitch around;
join with a slip stitch in 1st FPhdc. (45 FPhdc)

Rounds 4-6: Repeat Round 3

Round 7: Chain 1 (See Notes),
hdc in same stitch as join,
* FLO hdc in next stitch, BLO hdc in next stitch, *
repeat from * to * around;
join with a slip stitch in 1st hdc. (1 hdc, 22 FLO hdc, BLO hdc)

Rounds 8-9: Repeat Round 7

 

Hanger Working with both colors (I chose to use Color A but you don’t have to)
Chain 25
Row 1: sc in 2nd chain from the hook and in each chain across. Turn (24 sc)

Row 2: Chain 1 (See Notes),
sc in same stitch and in each stitch across. (24 sc)
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.

Place the hanger at center back through Rows 5 and 6 of the cuff and stocking. Pull the tails through and sew the hanger down. Weave in ends.

Finishing the Heel
With yarn needle and tails that were left, sew across the end of Rows to close the heel on both sides.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
