Description

Sweet, charming, and perfectly sized for every season — the Springtime Violets Wraplet is a delightful shoulder wrap that works up beautifully in xfine weight yarn. The open lace mesh body is accented with a stunning speckled trim that adds just the right touch of whimsy. Once blocked, it measures 8″ wide x 52″ long — the perfect size to drape over your shoulders, layer over a blouse or dress, or pin with your favorite brooch for a polished, put-together look.

Originally designed for Blue Mule Fiber for their booth at the 2018 Houston Fiber Fest, the Springtime Violets Wraplet was created to showcase the beauty of their xfine weight yarn — and it does exactly that.

The sample shown was made using Blue Mule Fiber 6th Street XFine for the main body and Blue Mule Fiber XFine in Val Verde for the trim — a gorgeous combination that lets the speckled colorway shine along the edges.

Terms:
US crochet terms

Size:
6″ wide x 40″ long, Before blocking
8″ wide x 52″ long, Once blocked

Skill Level:
Advanced Beginner

Materials:
Xfine weight (#0), 350 yards

  • 75 grams Blue Mule Fiber 6th Street XFine (main body)
  • 10 grams Blue Mule Fiber XFine in Val Verde (trim)

To substitute, use a #0 extra fine weight yarn, preferably with a similar fiber content. Yarn choice significantly affects the finished look — a smooth, plied extra fine yarn will give you
clean, defined lace openings with beautiful drape, while a textured or fuzzy yarn will soften the lace effect and reduce stitch definition. For best results, choose a yarn
with good stitch memory and drape rather than one that is stiff or bulky. Always check your yardage

Hook:
US Size G+ (4.5 mm)

Stitches Used:
Basic crochet stitches including front and back post stitches
