Rebecca Circle in A Square is the 24th Square in the Squaring The Circle CAL 2018! Please help me and the other gorgeous ladies welcome Rebecca to the family. She is fun, quick and unique to stitch up. This square can also be used for other projects and will always be available. Enjoy!

Corner – work (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc)

Special Stitches

Shell – Work 5 dc in indicated space

Cross Stitch – Work 1 dc in indicated stitch, crossing in front of dc just made, work 1 dc in last skipped stitch.

BPDC – back post double crochet
Step 1: yarn over on hook.
Step 2: Insert hook into hole next to the post of the next stitch, on the “hook side” from back to front
Step 3: Bring the hook back to the back of the fabric around the post, to the hole farther from the hook.
Step 4: yarn over and draw through a loop, bringing it through both sides of the fabric. (3 loops on hook)
Step 5: yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook. (2 loops remaining on hook)
Step 6: yarn over and draw through remaining 2 loops on hook.

FPDC – front post double crochet
Insert your hook into the front of your work, behind the indicated stitch, and then through your work such that your hook is now at the front of your work again. Pull through final 2 loops on your hook.

COLORS: A – (Charcoal), B (White) & Color C (Sea Foam)

Working With A

Chain 4, slip stitch to form a ring
Round 1: Chain 4 (Counts as dc, chain 1),
* dc, chain 1, *
repeat around 11 more times;
join with a slip stitch into 3rd chain of chain 4. (12 dc, 12 ch 1 sp)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Join B with a Slip Stitch into any Chain 1 space

Round 2: Chain 3 (See Notes), work 2 dc in same space,
* chain 2, skip next (dc, ch 1, dc),
work 3 dc in next chain 1 space, *
repeat from * to * around;
join with a slip stitch in top of chain of the chain 3. (18 dc, 6 ch 2 sps)

Join C with a slip stitch in any Chain 2 space
Round 3: Chain 3 (See Notes), work 4 dc in same space,
* chain 1, work Shell (See Special Stitches) in next chain 2 space, *
repeat from * to * around;
join with a slip stitch in top of chain 3. (6 shells, 6 ch 1 sps)

Join A with a slip stitch into 3rd dc of Shell
Round 4: Sc in same stitch as join,
* chain 3, FPdc around RND 2 center dc,
chain 3, sc in 3rd dc of shell, *
repeat from * to * around;
join with a slip stitch in the into 1st sc. (6 sc, 6 FPdc 12 ch 3 sps)

Join B with a slip stitch into any chain 3 space in front of a FPdc
Round 5: Work 3 hdc in same space,
* hdc in FPdc, work 3 hdc in next chain 3 space,
hdc in next sc, work 3 hdc in next chain 3 space, *
repeat from * to * around;
join with a slip stitch in top of top of 1st hdc. (48 hdc)

Join C with a slip stitch in any hdc
Round 6: Chain 3 (Counts as DC),
work (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) into same dc as join (FIRST CORNER),
* chain 3, skip next 3 stitches, sc in next stitch, chain 3,
skip next 3 stitches, sc in next stitch,
chain 3, skip next 3 stitches,
work Corner (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next stitch, *
repeat from * to * around 2 more times;
join with a slip stitch into 3rd chain of chain 3. (4 corners, 8 sc, 12 ch 3 sp)
