Level of Difficulty Beginner/Intermediate Yarn Caron Simply Soft Ombre, Rosewood (4 skeins) Color A and Strawberry (1 skein) Color B Hook and Notions Size Hook: H (5 mm), scissors and blunt needle Measurement 36 inches Gauge N/A Abbreviations Ch/chs = chain/chains hdc = half double crochet Dc = double crochet Tr = treble crochet FPtr = front post treble crochet FPdc – front post double crochet Notes Chain 2 at beginning of round does counts as a hdc unless otherwise stated. Chain 3 at beginning of round counts as a dc unless otherwise stated. Corner – work (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) into each chain 1 corner space Special Stitches HBdc (herringbone double crochet) – yarn over, insert hook into indicated stitch, yarn over and draw up and through first loop on hook (2 loops on hook), yarn over and draw through 1 loop on hook, yarn over and draw through both loops on hook. Cross Double Crochet – yarn over, skip next 2 stitches, dc in next stitch, chain 1, skip 2nd skipped stitch next to dc, yarn over, holding working yarn in front of dc just made, insert hook in 1st skipped stitch, yarn over, pull through loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over, work 2 loops off, yarn over, work 2 loops off as with dc.

(4 dc per side, 6 FPdc, 4 FPtr per side, 18 Hbdc per side, 4 ch 1 sps) Fasten off Color B, attach Color A in any chain 1 Corner Space Round 9: Chain 3 (See Notes), work (dc, ch 1, 2 dc) into same chain 1 space, * HBdc in next 11 stitches, FPdc around next 2 stiches, FPtr around next 2 stitches, FPdc around next 2 stitches, FPtr around next 2 stitches, FPdc around next 2 stitches, HBdc in next 11 stitches, work Corner (See Notes), * repeat from * to * 3 more times; join with a slip stitch in top of chain 3.
