This Shiny Snowflake Ornament is super easy and uses a small amount of crochet thread. You can also make them as holiday coasters. All you need is some #5 or #10 cotton thread.

- Roughly 15-20 yards Aunt Lydia’s Crochet Thread Mercerized Cotton and Metallic yarn, 100 yds “Gold” size 5, “Silver” size 10.

Instructions
Chain 3, join with a slip stitch to form a ring
Round 1: Work 8 hdc in the ring, join with a slip stitch to the 1st hdc. (8 hdc)
Round 2: Chain 1, work 2 hdc in the same stitch as join and chain 1, work 2 hdc in each stitch around, join with a slip stitch the 1st hdc. (16 hdc)
Round 3: Chain 1, hdc in the same stitch as join and in the chain 1, work * 2 hdc in the next stitch, hdc in the next stitch, * repeat from * to * around; join with a slip stitch to the 1st hdc. (24 hdc)
Round 4: * chain 5, skip the next stitch, sc in the next stitch, * repeat from * to * around; join with a slip stitch to the 1st chain. (12 ch 5 sps)
Round 5: Slip Stitch into the chain 5 space, * chain 5, sc in the next chain 5 space, * repeat from * to * around; join with a slip stitch to the 1st sc. (12 ch 5 sps)
Round 6: Slip Stitch to the center chain, * chain 10, sc in the center chain of the next chain 5, * repeat from * to * around; join with a slip stitch to the 1st chain. (12 ch 10 sps)
Hanger
for ornaments/do not need for coasters
Chain 15 slip stitch into the beginning chain.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
