Level of Difficulty – Beginner
Yarn – Red Heart Crème de la Crème cotton, Brite Pink (Color A); 98 yards (I used the whole skein for both dishcloth and soap cozy and White (Color B) roughly used 75 yards
Hook and Notions – Size Hook: H (5.0mm), Scissors, Blunt Needle
Measurement – Laying flat 12-inches wide, 13-inches tall (from the bottom to the peak)
Gauge – 4 patterns + 7 rows = 3-inches
Abbreviations
Ch = chain
Dc = double crochet
Sc = single crochet
Notes – Chain 1 at beginning of row counts as a single crochet.
Chain 3 at beginning of row counts as a double crochet.
Special Stitch – Shell work (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in indicated stitch.
FHDC – (Foundation Half Double Crochet) Chain 2, yarn over, insert hook into first chain (2nd from the hook), yarn over, pull up through the first loop on the hook (this is your first chain loop). With 3 loops on hook, yarn over, pull through 3. * Yarn over, insert your hook into the first chain loop, yarn over, pull up a loop (this is your second chain loop), yarn over, pull through 3. 2 fhdc completed. Repeat from * until you reach the desired number of fhdc.
Instructions
Working with Color A
FHDC 43
Row 1: Chain 1, sc in the same stitch as the chain 1, * skip the next 2 stitches, shell in the next stitch, skip the next 2 stitches, sc in the next stitch, skip the next 2 stitches, * repeat across, until there are 3 stitches remaining, sc in the turning chain. (7 shells and 8 sc)
Row 2: Chain 3, dc in the same stitch as the chain 3, sc in the chain 1 space, * shell in the sc, sc in the chain 1 space, * repeat across, ending with 2 dc in the top of the last sc. (6 shells and 2 half shells)
Rows 3: Chain 1, sc in the same stitch as the chain 1, * shell in the next sc, sc in next chain 1 space, * repeat across, sc in the last stitch. (7 shells and 8 sc)
Rows 4-6: Repeat Rows 2 and 3
Change to Color B
Rows 7-8: Repeat Rows 2 and 3
Change to Color A
Rows 9-12: Repeat Rows 2 and 3
Change to Color B
Rows 13-14: Repeat Rows 2 and 3
Change to Color A
Rows 15-18: Repeat Rows 2 and 3
Change to Color B
Rows 19-20: Repeat Rows 2 and 3
Change to Color A
Rows 21-25: Repeat Rows 2 and 3
Fasten off Color A.
Edging
Using Color B join in same corner as where you fasten off Color A.
Round 1: SC in the same stitch as join, working down the side, * skip the end of two rows, work shell in the next end, skip the next two ends, sc in the next end, * repeat from * to * around; join with a slip stitch in the top of the 1st sc. (8 shells on each side)

Hook and Notions – Size Hook: H/8 (5.0 mm)
Measurement – Laying flat width 4 ½ inches, side height 5 inches Bottom width 1 ½ inches, length 4 inches
Gauge – 4 patterns + 7 rows = 3-inches
Abbreviations
BLO = Back Loop Only
Ch = chain
Dc = double crochet
Hdc = half double crochet
Sc = single crochet
Special Stitches
Shell – work (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the indicated stitch.
Notes – Chain 1 at beginning of rounds does not counts as a stitch.
Soap Cozy Instructions
With Color A Chain 13
Round 1: Work sc in the second chain from the hook, sc in the next 10 chains, work 3 sc in the next chain, working on back side of beginning chain, sc in the next 10 chains, work 2 sc in the same stitch as beginning sc; join with a slip stitch in the top 1st sc. (26 sts)
Round 2: Chain 1, work 3 hdc in the same stitch as join, hdc in the next 10 stitches, work 3 hdc in the next stitch, hdc in the next stitch, work 3 hdc in the next stitch, hdc in the next 10 stitches, work 3 hdc in the next stitch, hdc in the next stitch; join with a slip stitch in the top of 1st hdc. (34 sts)
Round 3: Chain 1 (working in Back Loops Only), hdc in the same stitch as join and in each stitch around; join with a slip stitch in the top of 1st hdc. (34 sts)
Round 4: Chain 1, sc in the same stitch, skip the next 2 stitches, work a shell in the next stitch, skip the next 2 stitches, * sc in the next stitch, work a shell in the next stitch, skip the next 2 stitches, * repeat from * to * around; join with a slip stitch in the top of 1st sc. (6 shells)
Change from Color A to Color B
Round 5: Chain 1, work a shell in the same stitch as join, * sc in the next chain 1 space, work a shell in the next sc, * repeat from * to * around; join with a slip stitch in the top of the 1st dc. (6 shells)
Change from Color B to Color A in Chain 1 space
Round 6: Chain 1, sc in the same stitch as join, * work a shell in the next sc, sc in the next chain 1 space, * repeat from * to * around; join with a slip stitch in the top of the 1st sc. (6 shells)
Rounds 7-13: Repeat Rounds 5 – 6
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Tie
With both colors chain 45 fasten off and weave between shells of round 12.
