Patons Grace, Clay 70 yards, 100% Mercerized Cotton or any #3 cotton
Hook and Notions:
Size Hook: F (3.75 mm), scissors and blunt needle
8-inches wide and 8-inches long
Not important for this project
Ch/chs = chain/chains
Hdc = half double crochet
Dc = double crochet
FPdc = front post double crochet
BPdc = back post double crochet
Shell – work (2dc, ch 1, 2dc) in indicated stitch
Row 1: HDC in 2nd chain from the hook and in each chain across. Turn (44 hdc)
Row 2: Chain 1, dc in the same stitch, dc in the next stitch, skip the next 2 stitches, * work shell (see special stitches) in the next stitch, skip the next 2 stitches, FPdc around the next 2 stitches, skip the next 2 stitches, * repeat from * to * across to the last 5 stitches, work shell (see special stitch), skip the next 2 stitches, dc in the last 2 stitches. (4 dc, 6 shells, 10 FPdc)
Row 3: Chain 1, dc in the same stitch and in the next stitch, * work shell (see special stitch) in the chain 1 space of the precious shell, BPdc around the next 2 stitches, * repeat from * to * across to the last shell, work shell (see special stitch) in the chain 1 space, dc in the last 2 stitches. Turn (4 dc, 6 shells, 1- BPdc)
Rows 4-18: Repeat Rows 2 and 3
Fasten Off and weave in ends.
