There’s something about the golden hour — that soft, glowing stretch at the end of the day — that makes you want to slow down, wrap up in something cozy, and just breathe. That’s exactly the feeling I wanted to capture in the final piece of my Golden Hour collection: the Emerald City Scarf. 💚

This one is especially close to my heart. I first created it on one of my many sleepless nights — stitch by stitch, it kept me calm until I finally drifted off in the wee hours. Some of you may even remember it as My Irish Scarf, which first debuted back in 2018 at the East Texas Fiber Fest. I’ve refreshed and reworked it as the perfect finale to wrap up (pun intended!) the Golden Hour collection.

About the Emerald City Scarf

The Emerald City Scarf is a long, soft, wrap-around-twice kind of scarf worked in a light fingering-weight handspun — the color of a summer evening slipping into fall. It has a gentle drape and a rhythmic, meditative shell stitch pattern that’s a joy to sink into on a quiet evening. Best of all, it’s made to fit you — pick your width from four sizes, then work to your favorite length, whether that’s a classic scarf or a long wrap-and-drape.

Why You’ll Love It

  • 💚 A long, cozy drape — wrap it twice, loop it loose, or let it hang; it works every way
  • 🧶 Meditative to make — a soothing, rhythmic shell stitch that’s perfect for slow evenings
  • 🍂 Season-spanning color — that emerald-into-gold feel carries you from summer right into fall
  • 📐 Made to fit you — four widths to choose from, then work to any length you like
  • ✨ A refreshed favorite — a beloved 2018 design, reworked for the Golden Hour collection
