Level of Difficulty – Easy
Yarn – Red Heart Soft # 4 Worsted, Teal and White
Hook and Notions – Size Hook: J (6mm), scissors, a and yarn needle
Measurement – Hat should fit circumferences of (20″ to 24″)
Gauge – 6 stitches over 2 inches
Abbreviations
Ch = chain
Sc = single crochet
Hdc = half double crochet
Dc = double crochet
Special Stitch
Hounds tooth – single crochet in indicated stitch, double crochet in next stitch, repeat as directed or until end of row/round. Next row working double crochet in single crochet and single crochet in double crochet
Instructions
Start with Teal
Round 1: Chain 54, join with a slip stitch to first chain. (54 sts)
Round 2: Chain 1, sc in first chain, sc in each chain around; join with a slip stitch to first stitch. (54 sts)
Round 3: Chain 1, hdc in first stitch and in each stitch around; join with a slip stitch to first stitch. (54 sts)
Round 4: Chain 1, sc in same stitch as join, * dc in next stitch, sc in next stitch, * repeat around ending with a dc; join with a slip stitch to first stitch. (54 sts)
Attach White
Round 5: Chain 1, dc in same stitch as join, * sc in next stitch, dc in next stitch, * repeat around ending with a sc; join with a slip stitch to first stitch. (54 sts)
Change Color; Teal
Round 6: Repeat Round 4
Change Color; White
Round 7: Repeat Round 5
Change Color; Teal
Round 8: Repeat Round 4
Change Color; White
Round 9: Repeat Round 5
Change Color; Teal
Round 10: Repeat Round 4
Change Color; White
Round 11: Repeat Round 5

Round 17: Chain 1, hdc in same stitch as join, hdc in the next 5 stitches, * hdc decrease over the next two stitches, hdc in the next 6 stitches, * repeat from * to * around, ending with hdc decrease in last two stitches; join with a slip stitch to first stitch. (42 sts)
Round 18: Chain 1, hdc in same stitch as join, hdc in the next 4 stitches, * hdc decrease over the next two stitches, hdc in the next 5 stitches, * repeat from * to * around, ending with hdc decrease in last two stitches; join with a slip stitch to first stitch. (36 sts)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
