Level of Difficulty – Beginner Yarn – Premier Deborah Norville Serenity Chunky Weight #5 Bulky – color Kitty, 4 skeins at 109 yards per skein = 436 yards for this project Hook and Notions – Hook: L (8mm), scissors and blunt needle Measurement – 24-inches wide and 36-inches long Gauge – Not important for this project. Abbreviations Ch = chain Dc = double crochet Hdc = half double crochet Sc = single crochet Special Stitches FHDC – (Foundation Half Double Crochet) Chain 2, yarn over, insert hook into first chain (2^nd from the hook), yarn over, pull up through the first loop on the hook (this is your first chain loop). With 3 loops on hook, yarn over, pull through 3. * Yarn over, insert your hook into the first chain loop, yarn over, pull up a loop (this is your second chain loop), yarn over, pull through 3. 2 fhdc completed. Repeat from * until you reach the desired number of fhdc.

Instructions

FHDC (see notes) 46 Row 1: Chain 1 (counts as sc), work 2 dc in first stitch, * skip 2 stitches, work (1 sc, 2 dc) in next stitch, * repeat from * to * across to last 3 stitches, skip 2 stitches, sc in the beginning chain 1. Turn (46 stitches) Row 2: Chain 2 (counts as hdc), hdc in each stitch across and beginning chain. (46 hdc) Rows 3-51: Repeat Rows 1 & 2; ending with Row 2 Row 52: Chain 1 (counts as a sc), sc in each hdc across.
