Hi Everyone! Welcome to the CWU & AC Mystery Blanket Crochet Along! I am so excited to be starting Rows 1-6 with you today. I look forward to crocheting this blanket with you and getting to know who you are crocheting it for as we grow our blankets. As always my goal for this crochet along is for us to have a lot of fun, create a gorgeous blanket, and share our work with one another. Enjoy!

  • Ch/Chs = Chain/Chains
  • Sc = Single Crochet
  • Hdc = Half Double Crochet
  • Dc = Double Crochet
  • FO = Fasten Off
  • Rep = Repeat
  • Sl St = Slip Stitch
  • Sp/Sps = Space/ Spaces
  • St/Sts = Stitch/ Stitches

Special Stitches

  • Double Crochet Cluster Stitch (DC CL) also Double Crochet 4 Together Stitch (DC4Tog), YO hook insert hook into the indicated stitch. YO and draw up a loop, YO and draw through the first 2 loops on the hook. YO insert our hook in same st and draw through a loop; you should have 4 loops on your hook. YO draw through the first 2 loops only and you should have 3 loops on your hook. YO and insert hook same stitch and draw through that will give you 5 loops on your hook. YO and draw through the first 2 loops. That will leave you with 4 loops on your hook. YO and draw through all 4 loops on the hook. Secure the cluster with a chain stitch.
  • V stitch (V st): (dc, ch 1, dc) in indicated stitch or space

Instructions

Round 1: hdc in each st and joins around, work (3hdc, ch2, 3hdc) in each corner; join with a slip stitch in top of hdc. FASTEN OFF (224 hdc, 4 x ch 2 spaces)

Round 2: (with next color) Chain 1(does not count), cluster in same stitch as join, chain 1, skip next 2 stitchess, * cluster, chain 1, skip next 2 stitches, * repeat from * to * to corner, work (cluster, ch2, cluster) in corner chain 2 space; join with a slip stitch in top of cluster. (78 clusters)

Round 3: Slip stitch into chain 1 space, chain 1 (does not count), * cluster, chain 1, skip next 2 stitches, * repeat from * to * to the corner, work (cluster, ch2, cluster) in the corner chain 2 space, repeat 2 more times; join with a slip stitch in top of cluster. (82 clusters) FASTEN OFF

Round 4: (with next color) Slip stitch into chain 1 space, chain 1 (does not count), work 3dc in same space, * chain 1, skip cluster, work 3dc in next space, chain 1, skip cluster, * repeat from * to * to corner, work (3dc, ch2, 3dc) in the corner chain 2 space, repeat from * to * to next corner, work (3dc, ch2, 3dc) in the corner chain 2 space, ** repeat from * to ** twice more; work (ch 1, sk cluster, 3dc in next space to end; join with a slip stitch in top of first dc. (86 sets of 3dc, 82 ch1 sp, 4 x ch 2 sp) FASTEN OFF

Round 5: (with next color – attach in sp before the Fasten Off of previous rnd) Chain 4 (counts as a dc & ch1), dc in same sp, * V stitch in each space skipping clusters on previous row, * repeat from * to * to corner, work (Vst, ch2, Vst) in the corner chain 2 space, repeat 2 more times; join with a slip stitch in top of chain 4. (90 Vsts)

Round 6: Chain 2 (counts as first dc), hdc in each st across to corner, work (2hdc, ch2, 2hdc) in the corner, repeat this around; join with a slip stitch in top of chain 2. (286hdc, 4 x ch2 sp) (82 hdc along each long side, 61 hdc along each short side) Fasten Off.
