Happy WIP Wednesday, friend! 🧶
Grab your coffee and pull up a chair — it’s time for our favorite little mid-week check-in.
And can we talk about the calendar for a second? Somehow it’s back-to-school season already. The backpacks are out, the schedules are shifting, and I’ve been wondering something…
Does the start of school give you more crochet time, or less? 🍎
I feel like it goes one of two ways. For some of us, those quiet hours after drop-off are a little gift — suddenly there’s time for a few peaceful rows with a cup of coffee. For others, the busier routine means crochet gets squeezed into the tiny in-between moments (a few stitches in the carpool line, a row or two while you wait at practice).
My kids are grown now, so the school-day rush is behind me — but I remember it well. Back when they were in school, I’d sneak in a few rows after drop-off or while waiting in the carpool line. These days I pick up our youngest from college, so you’ll still catch me stealing a few stitches in the afternoon while I wait on him. Otherwise? It all just depends on the day. 💛

My secret is keeping a small, no-pressure project I can toss in my bag and take anywhere — a washcloth, a granny square, a hat, a simple scarf. Something that’s easy to pick up and put down.
So tell me — is your crochet time growing or shrinking this season? Drop a comment and let me know. And if you’re a “less time” person, what’s your favorite little grab-and-go project? 👇
