Level of Difficulty – Beginner/Intermediate
Yarn – Red Heart Crème de la Creme; Brite Pink (Color A) and White (Color B) – roughly 20 yards total
Hook and Notions – Size Hook: H (5mm), scissors, blunt needle
Measurement – 8-inches in diameter
Gauge – Not important for this project
Abbreviations
Ch = chain
Hdc = half double crochet
Dc = double crochet
Tr = triple crochet
Special Stitches –
Reverse Single Crochet aka Crab Stitch
This stitch is distinctive; it looks ridged and makes a nice finishing option for crochet items. It looks great when worked as an edging using a contrasting or coordinating color.
This is worked from left to right (or opposite direction)
With right side of project facing you Chain 1, * insert hook into next stitch to right, yarn over and pull through, (2 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through both loops. * Continue working * to * until you have reached the end of project. Slip Stitch into first chain 1 and fasten off, weave in ends
Notes
Chain 2 at beginning of rounds does not count as a stitch unless otherwise stated.

Instructions

Starting with Color A (Brite Pink)
Make a magic ring or Chain 4
Round 1: CH 2, work 15 dc into the ring; join with a slip stitch in top of 1st dc. (15 dc)
Row 2: CH 2, work 1 DC into same stitch, work 4 tr into the next stitch; work 2 dc into the next stitch, work 1 hdc into next 4 stitches; forming the point: work [1 dc, 1 tr, 1 dc] into the next stitch, work 1 hdc into the next 4 stitches, work 2 dc into next stitch, work 4 tr into the next stitch, work (1 dc, ch 2] into the next stitch, Slip Stitch into bottom of last stitch.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Starting with Color B (White)

Chain 36, Slip Stitch to make a ring
Round 1:  Slip Stitch into the stitch between the two 2 chains of the heart, ch 3(counts as 1 dc), work 1 dc into the same chain, work 1 dc into the next 2 chains, * work 2 dc into next chain, work 1 dc into next 2 chains, * repeat from * to * until you have a total of 22 stitches, work 2 dc  into next chain, work 1 dc into next chain, ch 3 and slip stitch into next chain, slip stitch into point of heart; slip stitch into next chain, ch 3, work 1 dc into same chain, work 1 dc into next 2 chains, ** work 2 dc into next chain, work 1 dc into next 2 chains, ** repeat from ** to ** until end; join with a slip stitch in top of chain 3. (48 dc)
Round 2: CH 3, dc in same stitch as join, work 1 dc in next 3 stitches, * 2 dc in the next stitch, work 1 dc into the next 3 stitches, * repeat from * to * around; join with a slip stitch in top of chain 3. (60 dc).
Round 3: CH 4 (counts as 1 tr), tr in each dc around; join with a slip stitch in top of chain 4. (60 tr)
Fasten Off and weave in ends.
Working with Color A (Brite Pink)

Edging

Attach Color A in any stitch, work Reverse Single Crochet around; join with a slip stitch in top of first crab stitch.
