The golden hour — that warm, glowing stretch of light at the end of the day — has always been my favorite time to slow down and stitch. And this season, I’ve turned that feeling into a whole collection.

Welcome to Stitch the Season: Golden Hour — a four-week community crochet-along where we stitch through a collection of four coordinating patterns together, with new patterns rolling out over the coming weeks.

Whether you make one pattern or all four, there’s a place for you here.

What Is the Stitch the Season: Golden Hour CAL?

A crochet-along — or CAL — is a community event where makers stitch through the same collection at the same time, sharing progress and cheering each other on along the way.

Golden Hour is my newest Stitch the Season collection — a warm, golden set of patterns inspired by slow summer evenings and honey-gold light. Over four weeks, new patterns rolling out over the coming weeks. You can stitch along in real time, or grab the full bundle and work at your own pace.

The CAL is free to participate in. Each pattern is available as a paid PDF download from the American Crochet shop — individually or as a discounted bundle.

The Golden Hour Pattern Collection

S’mores Tote Bag

A warm, roomy tote named for those golden campfire evenings. Worked in sturdy cotton, the S’mores Tote holds its shape beautifully and is perfect for markets, beach days, or hauling your current WIP.

  • Skill level: Easy
  • Type: Accessory / Bag
  • Yarn: Worsted cotton (Size 4)
  • Price: $7

Double Moss Dishcloth

A quick, satisfying make for your kitchen. The double moss stitch creates a beautiful woven-textured stitch with lovely definition, and it works up fast enough to make a whole golden set in an afternoon.

  • Skill level: Beginner
  • Type: Home Décor / Kitchen
  • Yarn: Worsted cotton (Size 4)
  • Price: $4

Cottage Garden Jar Cozy

A sweet cottage-garden jar cozy in three sizes to fit your mason jars. Pretty storage and farmhouse-sweet décor in one, with a soft contrast border for that finishing touch.

  • Skill level: Intermediate
  • Type: Home Décor
  • Yarn: Worsted cotton (Size 4)
  • Sizes: 12 oz, 16 oz, 24 oz
  • Price: $6

Emerald City Scarf

The collection closes with this long, soft scarf worked in a light fingering handspun — the color of a summer evening slipping into fall. A returning favorite (some of you may remember it as My Irish Scarf from its 2018 debut at the East Texas Fiber Fest), refreshed to wrap up Golden Hour. It’s the kind of scarf you reach for all season long.

  • Skill level: Intermediate
  • Type: Wearable / Scarf
  • Yarn: Light fingering handspun (~600 yds)
  • Price: $7
