The Reba Beanie – A Cozy Crochet Hat Pattern (Adult Small)
Crochet a cozy, textured hat with my “Reba Beanie” pattern!
The Reba Beanie is worked from the top down in the round. The half double crochet slip stitch creates a warm, solid fabric with beautiful texture, and a ribbed brim keeps it snug. I designed it for the Crochet Cancer Challenge and made it in pink to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness. Perfect for:

Finished Size:
- Adult Small (fits a 21–22″ head): 9½” wide by 8″ tall
Skill Level:
Easy (Confident Beginner)
Yarn:
#4 worsted weight (approx. 115 yards) — I used Caron One Pound
To substitute:
Choose a thicker worsted weight yarn similar to Caron One Pound, and check your gauge before you begin. If you’re making a hat to donate, a soft, machine-washable yarn that’s gentle on sensitive skin is best.
Hook:
US Size I (5.5mm)
Gauge:
13 hdc sl sts = 4″
Stitches Used:
- Magic ring, chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, half double crochet in the 3rd loop, half double crochet slip stitch, front post and back post half double crochet
